Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL) is the development agency for third sector organisations in North Lanarkshire.
From April 2010, VANL replaces the two third sector support bodies in the area (CVS North Lanarkshire and Volunteer Centre North Lanarkshire) to form a single interface for voluntary and community organisations, their staff and volunteers.
The evolution of VANL marks a landmark in the development of the infrastructure for volunteering and voluntary sector development in the area. For the first time, a single organisation will be the point of contact for information, advice and support on voluntary action, and will represent the sector in strategic dialogue with community planning partners.
Operating from offices in Airdrie and Wishaw, VANL is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status (Scottish Charity no. SC041224; Company no. 369302), and is a membership organisation open to third sector organisations across the local authority area. To find about more about the benefits of joining us, visit the membership section.
This website will provides regularly updated information on the activities of VANL and the third sector in North Lanarkshire. Find out more about the services we offer, the projects we currently run, and the online resources you can access.
If you work/volunteer in the voluntary sector within North Lanarkshire this is YOUR conference. We are keen to encourage as many voluntary and community organisations as possible to attend and hope that your organisation can be represented. Important issues affecting the voluntary sector will be highlighted and discussed.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Valuing the Voluntary Sector” and promises to be interesting and informative with a number of prominent speakers and innovative workshop opportunities – as well as the customary “Q&A” session, where delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions relating to their organisation or the sector at large.
A buffet lunch and refreshments will also be available.
